When you call Better for Babies, Inc., you will most likely either get myself (Leah), Lauren or Sebsatian. I think that is one of the things that continues to make us special.
Our customers are important to us, and while we have grown over the years, we like to take the extra effort to personalize your purchase from Better for Babies. I have enjoyed serving my customers and providing uncompromising, organic solutions for babies and their families. Do not hesitate to e-mail me or contact us in any way if you have questions or suggestions. It is our pleasure to help moms, dads, and their little ones.
Better for Babies began while we were living abroad in Wales. I had access to some great products both in Britain and Europe, and it was my great pleasure to bring back to the US some of our very favorite imports. An outrageous climb in the exchange rate coupled with a love for organics led to a full line up of natural products for you and your entire family including our very own Little Beetle diaper line - products that are better for you, your baby, and the world we share.
I am a mom to Gabriel, born in 2002, and Marcella, born in 2005. They are both our testers and our inspiration. I am blessed to be able to stay home at this time in my life not only to be with my kiddos but also so that I can care for my husband who has a degenerative neurological illness. My husband lends a hand when he can especially with graphics, photography, and of course product design. As a stay at home dad, he wears the hat of homeschool teacher to both children.
In 2008, we became Better for Babies, Inc. From the beginning, we have worked long hours; and I have insisted on being a part of every aspect of the business from web design, shopping cart, shipping, advertising, accounting, and so on. But, as we have grown, I have been blessed to hire many great employees. Most of you will, at some point, come in contact with Lauren, our over achieving Vice President (in charge of Shipping and Wholesale) and/or Sebastian, our remarkable and knowledgeable Customer Care leader.

Lauren Parker was
a cloth-diapered baby born to a single mother in Groton, NY. She helped
raise and diaper her younger sister and graduated as the valedictorian
of Newfield Central High School in NY at 16. She then went on to attend
Ithaca College as a psychology major. She joined Inner Harbour
AmeriCorps after graduation, then went on to work at Inner Harbour
Hospital (a residential facility for children and teens with behavioral
and emotional troubles) as a Senior Counselor for 3 years. She also
attended the University of West Georgia, earning her M.A. in Humanistic
and Transpersonal Psychology.
While
in grad school, she needed a third part-time job and made sure it was
one that supported her values and involved working with people she
loved -- so she joined the Better for Babies family in January 2008 as
a shipping employee. Her passion for organization, efficiency, and her
desire to take on increasing responsibility around the office led to
her quick promotion to Shipping Manager in the Spring of 2008.
Approaching her two-year anniversary with us, Lauren has earned the
title VP, Shipping Manager and Wholesale Accounts.
Lauren
loves reading, writing, playing in Nature, photography, laughing,
painting, camping, collaging, learning, and being productive. She also
absolutely loves working at Better for Babies and looks forward to
diapering her own children with Little Beetles in the not-so-distant
future! She sends particularly warm appreciation to her partner, her
pets, Leah, and the rest of her wonderful community for helping her
fulfill her passions in- and outside of work. :)

Sebastian Grant comes from a small town in Texas, which provided her with a deep respect for community and a longing for an environment that supports her progressive values. Over the past decade she has been blessed enough to find both of these -- first in Asheville, NC, where she completed a BA in psychology, and now in Carrollton, GA where she is a graduate student of Humanistic/Transpersonal psychology and a Better for Babies employee. She is immensely grateful for the opportunity to share her life with a community of people she loves and respects, and for the opportunity to work for a local company that embodies so many of the things she values, such as sustainability, environmental stewardship, fair trade relationships, and ethically produced products one can feel good about purchasing. Her position as Customer Care Representative provides her with even more opportunities to connect with others who share the vision of the sustainable/reusable revolution, and she enjoys being able to assist people with making Better for Babies and Better for Grownups products part of this vision in their own lives. In addition to her lovely community, Sebastian shares her life with an amazing partner, two smiley canines, and one zenful cat. Gardening gives her glee, pottery gets her centered, cooking and eating good food make her deeply grateful, and nature keeps her humbled.
