{Better ORGANIC COTTON VELOUR for Babies}

Just why is our new! Little Beetle ONE Trim {better for babies}
and {better than other diapers}?

Quite simply put, it is has an unsurpassed softness and stretch, is all natural, organic, fair trade, trim on the hips and waist, fitted like a disposable, and can be matched with a 100% natural and organic wool diaper cover. For a stash of diapers, you only need 4 to 5 covers. And together our Little Beetle ONE and Little Beetle Organic Merino Wool diaper covers provide an entirely natural and organic product for your little one!

The body is 100% natural velour, and it takes a snappi! It provides a fresh, soft, body-conforming shape with the option of snaps, aplix, or no-closure in which the now ‘famous’ and ‘beloved’ snappi device may be used.

We sell more aplix in size 1 and more snaps in size 2, but all closures are loved.

With our Little Beetle elastic, your diaper can be small for the low weight range, and with a gentle stretch or two, can be bigger for the upper weight range. Wash and dry your Little Beetle to see it return to its smaller form. And yes, it packs a most amazing absorbent punch! If you have heard of the original hemp Little Beetle, our new ONE matches or surpasses it in absorbency while at the same time drying 70% plus faster!! An all-natural diaper that does all of that – Now that has parents saying “You’re the one!”

Our ONE diapers are now made in our own US sewing facility just 5 miles from BFB headquarters. {And yes, we still use the same great fair trade organic cotton fabric from India.} We are having lots of fun along with a lot of hard work. Diapers can now be made on demand without the risk of lengthy delays. Quality control is top notch since we get to see (and inspect during) production; we do the training; and, thus, they are made the way we intended them to be. We continue to add quality and high tech equipment to make production faster, more efficient, and better. And we are also enjoying the means to more quickly design and implement new, natural, organic, and uncompromising {better for babies} products.

With the poorest parts of India in mind, we are talking to an organization that helps give medical attention to street kids and prenatal care to Mothers-to-be in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta). God-willing we hope to join forces with them later in 2008, and give a percentage of each Little Beetle ONE to their wonderful organization (to be announced soon).

Kolkata dubbed the “City of Joy” and the “Cultural Capital of India”. It is dear to people the world over and dear to us at Better for Babies, not least because it became the home of the deceased Mother Teresa (now Blessed Teresa), her Missionaries of Charity, and their Kalighat Home for the Dying. It now has a population of nearly 5 million and metro population surpassing 14 million. In the past six years, it has seen a wonderful economic renewal, and we were proud to be just a small part of that while our Little Beetle ONEs were made there. At the same time, it still remains a city of the poorest of the poor and a city of wealth. So, as we said, we are eagerly looking at way to help with a percentage of our profits.

Organic means poison free. Pesticides are poison. Cotton uses more pesticides than any other crop (in fact, visitors to conventional cotton farms are frequently asked to wear a clean suit for safety). This is why we sell organic diapers, and it's why the Little Beetle ONE is our favorite diaper.

Fair Trade means you are helping parents in India send their kids to school rather than to work in the fields. Fair Trade practices ensure that a decent wage is paid to farm workers with an additional premium for environmental and social projects.

Our cotton is certified organic and sustainable by Control Union Certifications (formerly SKAL), known as the premier international organic certification. It is Certified FairTrade by FLO (Fair Trade Labeling Organization).

There are opportunities in life to buy something wonderful that you really need and do good in the world at the same time. That’s {betterforbabies}.
